The grant, which has been awarded to help more people play rugby league at grassroots level in London, will fund the organisation’s equipment.

London Youth Games are set to receive £5,405.00 from the Created. By RLWC2021 Capital Grants Programme. Delivered in partnership between RLWC2021, the sport’s national governing body, the Rugby Football League, Sport England and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport, the Created. By programme is a funding pot of up to £10million made available by the government to support the legacy of the Rugby League World Cup by growing participation in the sport.

The funding will be used to provide rugby league equipment to all 33 London Boroughs to support and enhance the delivery of Inter-Schools activity and competitions. The equipment will also improve the delivery of London Youth Games’ Y56 Tag Rugby and Y78 Male 9’s County Competitions. With a high level of participation in the Tag competition and a growing level in the Y78 9’s competition, we hope the investment will retain and increase overall participation in rugby league over the next three years.
