Tennis is a fast paced sport played either indoors or outdoors across various types of surfaces. It can be played by either 2 or 4 players using a stringed racket and a ball with the aim to hit the ball over a net and score points.

Age Categories

The following age categories are eligible to compete in this event:

Junior Category 12 – 15 years old 01/01/2009 31/12/2012
Senior Category 12 – 18 years old 01/01/2006 31/12/2012
Squad Size

Each borough is permitted to have a minimum of 4 participants (2 males and 2 females) and a maximum of 8 participants (4 males and 4 females).

Eligibility

Juniors: Junior players must have a World Tennis Number between 25-40.9 or no World Tennis Number to be eligible for this competition.

Seniors: Senior players must have a World Tennis Number between 20-40.9 or no World Tennis Number to be eligible for this competition.

Dates & Venue Allocations

West Qualifier:

Sunday 9th June 2024 at Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub, W5 4NH.

 

East Qualifier:

Saturday 15th June 2024 at Redbridge Sports Centre, IG6 3HD.

Team and Squad Entry Deadline: Wednesday 22nd May 2024

All competitors must be entered by a council staff member, or nominated team manager in advance of the deadline listed.

Competitors/parents should be aware that the closing date listed is for borough’s to submit their squad. It is advised that you make contact to confirm your entry in advance of this deadline.

Redbridge Sports Centre

Venue:

Toilets: Are available in the tennis pavilion and also in the Jean Brown Arena.

Changing: Available in the tennis pavilion. We however strongly recommend coming dressed ready for the event you are participating in.

Water and Catering: Water fountains are available in both the tennis pavilion and Jean Brown Arena. There is a cafe onsite in the Norman Booth building. Teas/coffees can also be purchased from the reception at the Jean Brown Arena.

Accessibility: Disabled parking and toilets available. Lift access to upper areas including the cafe available.

Parking

Public Transport

We strongly recommend using public transport to get to this event as there is limited parking onsite, which will be on a first-come-first served basis.

The closest station is Fairlop (Central Line) which is right next to the venue.

Nearby bus: 462 (use Fairlop Station stop)

Parking

All vehicles must pay & display if using the car park at Redbridge Sports Centre: Up to 3 hours £1; all day £2 on weekends.

If travelling by coach, please drop off only.

Drop off: Free drop off up to 20 minutes. You will be fined if you stay any longer, so please make sure to pay if you do.

Payment for parking can be made through app, phone or at reception via a tablet using a debit/ credit card.

Once the car park is full, please use alternative pay & display carparks suggested below:

A. Fairlop Station Car Park

B. Craven Gardens Car Park (has a height restriction, so is not suitable for minibuses)

C. *Newbury Park Station (IG2 7RN; Not shown on map)

* You can park at Newbury Park Station on the Central Line and take tube to Fairlop Station (2 stops) and a two minute walk to Redbridge Sports & Leisure Centre.

We strongly recommend the use of public transport to get to this event.

Closest Station: Acton Town

Parking: There is parking available at a cost of £1 per hour. Please make sure you pay using the Ringo App if using the car park.
