Join LYG33 And Help Shape The Future Of London Youth Games
Applications are open to join the LYG33
LYG33 is an exciting project designed to empower young Londoners, giving them a voice to influence the future of London Youth Games and other key issues impacting young Londoners and sport.
Each year, young people aged between 14-21 have the opportunity to join LYG33. Members are selected from a range of different backgrounds to ensure the group is representative of the city’s rich diversity.
Members will be given the chance to be spokespeople on the future of sport at London Youth Games and in the capital. They will be representing their borough, giving them the opportunity to play into the leadership of sport for young people in their home communities.
Members of the LYG33 will be part of an online community and be encouraged to attend London Youth Games events. There will also be opportunities for them to meet with board members and senior leaders so they can influence at the most senior levels.
London Youth Games will also provide members of LYG33 with rewarding opportunities. Members will attend special events with inspirational speakers and meet LYG alumni. The programme aims to aid young people’s development by engaging them in different networks and offering beneficial experiences that they can take into their futures.
Last year’s cohort got the chance to speak to Premier League footballer Alex Iwobi, sports broadcaster Charlie Webster and LYG Chair Mickela Hall-Ramsay. They helped shape London Youth Games response to the Covid-19 pandemic creating a series of fitness challenges for London schools that attracted over 70,000 entries.
Applications are now open until Friday 24th September. You will need to fill out a short application here. We will be in touch with everyone who applies on the week beginning 4th October.
