Young Coaches Academy

The London Young Coaches Academy is a unique opportunity to focus on the coaches of the future who are aged 14-19. The experience will help participants reflect upon what type of coach they want to be, and improve and develop their personal skills, coaching skills and enhance employment opportunities. Its learning programme is deeply rooted in developing the people and coaching skills of young coaches. 110 young coaches will be selected from across London to take part in this programme.


On the 3rd/10th December the young coaches from across north, central, south, east and west London will come together for the London Young Coaches Academy to receive training and help develop skills such as communication and organisation, adaptability and compassion, as well as sessions on observation, instruction and analysis.

This programme, in the main has three main parts:
1. A local induction evening (dependant on your borough and between 7th-28th November)

WEST: 21st November (Hillingdon, Hounslow, Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing, Brent, Harrow)
EAST:  Langdon Park School, Wed 23rd November 4:30pm to 5:30pm (Redbridge, Havering, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Bexley, Greenwich, Lewisham, Hackney, Barking & Dagengam, City of London)
SOUTH: Monday 28th November (Croydon, Bromley, Sutton, Richmond, Kingston, Merton)
CENTRAL: Monday 28th November (Westminster, Southwark, Lambeth, Wandsworth, Islington, Camden, Kensington & Chelsea)
NORTH: 15th November (Barnet, Enfield, Waltham Forest, Haringey)

2. A London wide training day - 3rd/10th December @ a venue in London TBC
3. Local deployment and support offer through the Leadership, Coaching and Volunteering leads in the local areas.

Applicants should be available for a minimum of two days, the first being the local induction and the second being the training day.
