APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED FOR 2017 JUNIOR TEAM LEADERS & TEAM LEADERS


The Team Leader Role:

GamesForce Team Leaders are a  group of talented individuals (aged 18+) who play a senior role at the London Youth Games. They take on leadership roles, and are part of the onsite management crew at our multi-sport major events.

Becoming a team leader is a great opportunity for you to further your career prospects, develop leadership skills, work as part of team and gain experience across the areas of sport, media and events. Training, mentoring and onsite support is provided to successful applicants.

Team Leaders support volunteers within the four specified teams below:
  • Events: Play a leading role in the organisation and delivery of various sporting competitions as well as our festival offerings which encourage general participation in music/dance and sport!
  • Sport: Lead in event delivery in areas such as registration, results, ceremonies
  • Media:  Work with the communications team raising the profile of the Games through photography,videography, reporting and social media. 

Do you have the qualities?

  • Do you have leadership qualities?
  • Do you have good communication skills?
  • Can you remain calm and focused in busy, hectic situations?
  • Can you support and lead volunteer groups?
  • Do you enjoy hard work and great fun?
  • Would you like experience of a large scale sports event?

Our successful applicants are

  • 18+

  • Available to attend the selection evening in February and training in April (both by invitation)

  • Available for 2 – 3 days between May and June 2017 to attend London Youth Games qualifying competitions. This is where they receive onsite training for their roles.
  • Available for the duration of finals week . Team Leaders live onsite for a week at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre with the London Youth Games Team to assist with the preparation and running of the multi-sport event (3-9 July).

The Junior Team Leader Role:

Junior Team Leader’s are aged between 16 -18 and work alongside the Team Leaders for a few of our event days. They gain experience and understanding of the role and develop leadership and communication skills.  Training and support is provided. It’s hoped that the JTL's will go on to apply to become Team Leader once they are 18.  

Junior Team Leaders will work alongside Team Leaders and volunteers within the four specified teams below:

  • Sport: Lead in event delivery in areas such as registration, results, ceremonies

  • Can work as part of a team?
  • Have good communication skills?
  • Are always keen to get involved, whatever the role because you get 'the bigger picture'?

Our successful applicants are

  • 16-18

  • Available to attend the selection evening in February and training in April (both by invitation)

  • Available for 2 days between May and June 2017 to attend London Youth Games qualifying competitions. This is where they receive onsite training for their roles.

  • Available for finals weekend, 8th and 9th July.
